Do you have a hardware at home? If your answer is either a no or I don’t know, then you haven’t really explored the interesting dynamics of your home or you’re just not interested. If I were you, I would take a second look and see how a hardware is as much a part of home life as the ever functional kitchen.
Paying attention and upgrading the hardware around the house are actually good advice. Why so? According to articles in national publications, the kitchens and bathrooms, places where home hardware is most obvious, are actually the selling points of most homes. Which means, the better hardware you have or more clearly, the more appealing kitchen and bathrooms you have, the higher the resale value for your house. Selling your place therefore, is not such a bad idea.
Start the project by replacing the handles of the drawers in your kitchen and bathroom. Go all the way and include the handles of your furniture, especially the bigger ones.
Why not upgrade your doors other than the usual varnish and repaint? Replace the door knobs or handles too.
For a more creative look, install stainless steel racks in the bathroom and kitchen for the towels. The variety from the usual cabinets will give these rooms a modern take. Stainless steel is also a good material as it won’t tarnish or stain.
Lighting fixtures are also part of a home’s hardware “section.” Lighting now goes far beyond the simple fluorescent or light bulb. Shapely lights, embellished fixtures and colorful ones are a common sight in home decor and hardware stores. Make your lighting equipment interesting and fun.
It’s also worth noting the kitchen and bathroom floors. Tiles is a good choice given the variety in design, pattern and color of floor tiles. Of course, changing the flooring requires the service of a professional hence, extra expenditure. Just consider it a good investment.
To end our hardware talk, upgrade your window treatments too with more modern blinds or new curtains. The floors should also be decked with nicely-designed or well- colored area rugs.
